3 1/2 kitties

Book Summary:

You know how sometimes you hear a story and just can’t let go? That is what’s happening to Tash. She’s a struggling journalist with good instincts, which means she knows when to chase a case down. Unfortunately, it also means she doesn’t always know when walking away is safer.

A young nanny was recently found dead, and there’s something suspicious about the circumstances. Worse, it seems that even a tiny bit of digging pulls up a bunch of secrets with one friend group in particular. What else will Tash find?

My Review:

This is the first novel I’ve read by Katherine Faulkner, and I really like her writing style. Even though there were things I loved (and didn’t love) about The Other Mothers. It was worth the read.

Don’t dive into this book expecting to like the characters. These are all characters you will love to hate (at best). Tash has the most potential, given she’s doing something good (trying to solve a girl’s murder), but she’s doing it for the wrong reasons.

The layers to this mystery helped to make it more compelling. There’s so much going on, with every character having their own secrets and vices. That part is very human, even if it’s pushed to extreme limits.

Overall, I’m happy that I took the time to read The Other Mothers. It’s not the best thriller out there, but it is still a solid read.

Highlights:

  • Mystery/Thriller
  • Mother Drama
  • Journalist/Investigator
