Short Story Saturday: Poor Fancy’s Followers by Seanan McGuire

Series: October Daye
Author: Seanan McGuire
Released: October 1st, 2020
Received: Patreon

Short Story Saturday is back! If you’re getting sick of my October Daye shorts read through then I have some good news for you (but bad news for me); this is the last October Daye short on my TBR list (for the moment), so I’ll be moving onto the pile of InCryptid shorts next (also by Seanan McGuire).

Tybalt’s story continues in Poor Fancy’s Followers. Once again, it is set before the events of the main series but is still absolutely worth the read. Here the King of Cats is on an epic quest, though admittedly, it is not one he expected – or prepared for.

The surprise folded into the story lived up to my expectations, while the injustice of what was done will boil in the reader’s veins. At least, that’s how I felt while reading. They say that there are two sides to every story, and in this case, both sides of the story cut deep.

While this is the end of my October Daye short story binge, I do look forward to seeing more in the future. Fingers crossed that we’ll get more Tybalt soon enough!
