Short Story Saturday: Wishes and Tears by Seanan McGuire

Series: October Daye
Author: Seanan McGuire
Released: June 2020
Received: Patreon

Short Story Saturday continues! And it’ll come as no surprise to hear that I’m still working my way through the short stories for Seanan McGuire’s October Daye series. There’s a delightful number of them!

Wishes and Tears once again brings us back to one of my favorite characters, Tybalt. Naturally, that means I am already in love with whatever Seanan McGuire wants to tell us next. It’s set back in the days before the main series takes place, making it all the more intriguing.

Tybalt has been exiled from his home and his family. It’s all for the best, even if it does leave the king uncertain of what to do next – or where to go. Tybalt has never been a man of inaction, and he must find his place in the world.

This short is set in Lamorica, and readers will be surprised at just how much trouble Tybalt can get himself into, even when he isn’t actively trying to do so. It’s a gift, apparently.

Long story short (no pun intended, but appreciated), Wishes and Tears is another intense addition to Tybalt’s story. I will gladly read a hundred more addictions, should McGuire feel compelled to write them.
