Strangers in Court is yet another short story from the world of October Daye. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t get enough of them! This one comes at the end of the Anniversary Edition of Rosemary and Rue.

Any readers out there desperate to know the story of how Toby became a Knight? We’ve always known that she has (had?) a special place in Sylvester’s home, but how she got to that point had never been fully explored. Until now.

In other words, Strangers in Court is the story that I never realized I needed. Toby’s story has always been a fascinating one, and I love to see the world get fleshed out around her through these shorts.

However, this one is different from the rest. Mainly in that this is one of the rare additional stories that focuses entirely on October Daye, as opposed to any of the hundreds of secondary characters introduced.

I really enjoyed seeing a bit more of her story in particular, and I think most fans would appreciate what was learned here as well.
