4 1/2 kitties

Book Summary:

Josephine Haven always felt that she was fortunate enough to be born into a world of Progress. As a wielder of radiance, she was accepted into the House of Industry and trained in their ways.

However, once Josephine was sent out into the world, the real world, not the storybook the House of Industry likes to paint, she began to see the truth. Now Josephine is prepared to help bring about an entirely new type of change.

My Review:

Whew! If you’re looking for a heavy-hitting world full of emotionally compelling characters, you’ve got to read A Wild Radiance. There’s a little bit of something for everyone, and the marketing for this book has been on point (IE, promising Arcane vibes and Sunshine/Grump/Gremlin Dynamics, the works).

To start with, the world is bordering on dystopian levels, as an oligarchical society is in full swing. Readers get to learn the extent of it through Josephine’s eyes, and boy, is there a lot one could say about that.

Then there are the characters. Two in particular help to open Josephine’s eyes, and they may or may not be directly mentioned in the comp. They’re a very different trio, but that is what helps make them stand out so much.

A Wild Radiance easily lives up to its name, as it is a wild ride from start to finish. It’s emotional and powerful, unafraid to stare straight into the face of change and fight for what is right.

Highlights:

  • Expansive Fantasy Series
  • Magic Meets Steampunk
  • Battle for What is Right
  • Relationship Dynamics

Trigger Warnings:

  • Graphic Injuries
  • Animal Death
  • Controlling Behavior
