It’s that time of the month again! Time to talk about our monthly selections for subscriptions like BOTM (Book of the Month) and Aardvark Book Club! I’m currently enrolled in both, mostly because I’m indecisive. I also love that both boxes tend to offer VERY different selections.

In both subscription services, you can choose from a selection of books each month. BOTM will offer between five and seven new picks a month (plus a selection of add-ons) with a cap of five books per box. Aardvark offers a selection of five or six books and caps readers at three books a box.

September’s BOTM choices are:

My Choices:

  • Play Nice – You know, I was really crossing my fingers that Aardark could get their hands on Play Nice, so imagine my surprise when I learned that this was going to be a BOTM pick! Either way, I felt like I won this round.
  • Alchemy of Secrets – Stephanie Gerber breaking out of the YA category? Yes, please! But seriously, I’ve been looking forward to this one. The fact that BOTM’s version is a special edition is simply icing on the cake.
  • Wild Reverence (New Add-On) – I know there are probably going to be a few special editions of Wild Reverence out there, but I wanted to nab a BOTM copy while I could. Given this is Rebecca Ross, I know I won’t have any regrets.

September’s Aardvark choices are:

My Choices:

  • Lucky Day – I was really hoping that Aardvark would have Lucky Day, and look! What a great way to start the month.
  • The Wrong Daughter – This is somehow the only thriller I got for this month? I don’t know how that happened! Dandy Smith is new (to me), so here’s hoping I find a new author to love!
  • A Land So Wide – I love Erin A. Craig, so A Land So Wide was pretty much an auto-buy for me. Truthfully, I was really hoping that the teasers Aardvark drop actually referred to this book, and that it wasn’t just my wishful thinking.

  1. I am amazed at how much you read. What happens to the ones you send back? Or do they only send your picks?

    1. So, both book boxes are really awesome in letting you only choose the books you want! It’s why I love them so much.
