The Candles Are Burning is the sixth short in the Into Shadow series, which brought seven different authors together to tell dark tales. As with the rest of the series, viewer discretion is probably advised.

Maggie Royal just lost her husband, and she might be about to lose a whole lot more. Something evil is lingering in the area, and if she doesn’t figure out what the signs mean before it’s too late…she and her daughter will be lost.

I’ve got to say the best part about The Candles Are Burning is the way the scene is set. It instantly put me on edge. I waited for this horrible twist, and my stomach turned in anticipation. However, it never really felt like that final twist came about. So overall, I would have to say that it’s a decent read but not my favorite of the series.
