Short Story Saturday: The Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow

Series: Into Shadow #3
Author: Alix E. Harrow
Publisher: Amazon Original Stories
Released: November 15, 2022
Received: Own

The Six Deaths of the Saint is the third short story in the Into Shadow series by Amazon Originals. I honestly think this one is my favorite of the collection (so far, I still have three to go as of writing this).

Maybe it’s because I just finished reading it, but The Six Deaths of the Saint has a distinct Saint of Steel (T. Kingfisher) vibe, but with that unique Alix E. Harrow magic. In other words, I really enjoyed everything about it. It also reminded me – vaguely – of Melania (from Elden Ring).

The Six Deaths of the Saint has a darker edge, but it also plays with the concept of epics and the stories of heroes. What makes a legend, and what does it cost the person within the tale? This was beautifully done. I would love to see a full novelization of this one.
