Is everyone ready to squeal with me? Here we go: eeeee! As a huge fan of the Wayward Children series, the release of this short story absolutely made my day (month). Skeleton Song is the latest short story in the Wayward Children world. It follows Christopher, showcasing what the world beyond his door looks like.

These short stories are always so sad because we know how they end: with the children getting stuck in this world, unable to find their doors (so far). Christopher’s story is no exception, as it is set before the events of the first novella.

That being said, I adored every minute of it. This is the world of mariposa, and it is beautiful and full of life – just not in the way you might expect. I would give anything to see an adaptation based around this world (or even some more artwork!), as it sounds so wonderful.
