I received a copy of Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood through NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Sorry I Ruined Your Childhood is a collection of comic strips from the one and only Ben Zaehringer. His humor is slightly dark, but exceedingly witty and dry. And that is why I love his comics so much.
To be clear; this isn’t a comic collection full of bright and bubbly artwork and light-hearted jokes. Ben Zaehringer isn’t afraid to get dark – the title of this series should probably give that away. But for those that lean towards the cynical side, or who enjoy a dry sense of humor, this collection is perfect for you.
This collection was a chuckle-worthy read, through and through. Here so many elements from our childhoods have been pulled into comic format, and slightly altered. So as to ‘ruin our childhood.’ The humor is sometimes a little bit warped, but in the way, you might expect from this collection (again, look at the title!).
This was a fun and memorable read for me. And it was one I highly enjoyed. I’m going to have to remember to keep an eye out for more of Ben Zaehringer’s works, because he gets me.
