Persephone is a short (VERY short) story that Seanan McGuire wrote for International Women’s Day (2017). It runs with the “Nevertheless, she persisted” vibes, to say the least. This is a harrowing read. That may be a bit surprising, given how short it is. I think the problem is that it is far, far too believable. It hits hard and lingers long. In other words, it’s a Seanan McGuire short through and through.
