An Author that you’d like to read that you’ve never read before.

Oh! Good question. It’s also tough to answer. I adore picking up debut novels, as finding a new author can be so much fun. As such, I did bluescreen a little bit at the thought of this question. How about Premee Mohamed? I’ve had a few of her books on my TBR list for quite some time now.

A book you’d like to read

So, SO many books could be listed here. I’m going to pick a random one that is sitting on my TBR shelf right now: The Legacy of Yangchen. It released in 2023 and I was super looking forward to reading it…but somehow I never did? Must fix that.

A classic you’d like to read

One Hundred Years of Solitude. Will I read it this year? Maybe? I should probably try to read one classic a year, at a minimum. But as they say, should is just could but with stress. So…we’ll see.

A book you’d like to re-read

MurderBot! But seriously, I know I’m going to re-read all of the MurderBot Diaries again in 2024. I’m also going to continue my re-read of the Kate Daniels series.

A book you’ve had for ages and want to read

Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova. It’s been on my shelf for ages (since 2017, if you want to get technical). Despite never getting around to it, I have yet to give up hope on reading it. Someday. Maybe even this year! (Well, 2024).

A big book you’d like to read

The Way of Kings Pt. 2. I read Part 1 in 2023, and hopefully I’ll get through Part 2 in 2024. Ideally, I’d like to stay that I can get through at least more more book in the series, but as with the theme of this whole post, we’ll see.

An author that you’ve previously read and want to read more of

T. Kingfisher. I’m slowly working my way through her entire backlog. Thus far I’ve loved everything she’s written, so I have high hopes. I’m also hoping to get through Martha Wells’ backlog in 2024.

A book you got for Christmas and would like to read

A series you want to read from start to finish

Royal Blood by Adina Chiles. Yes, it’s only two books, but it is the first series to come to mind (that I haven’t started).

A series you want to finish that you’ve already started

Uh, well I’ve listed several at this point. Or hinted at them. I want to read/finish The Books of Raksura, The Saint of Steel, and maybe even Frank Tayell’s Surviving the Evacuation series.

Do you set reading goals? If so, how many books do you want to read in 2024?

I’m aiming to read at least 300 books in 2024.

Any other reading goals?

I’m overly ambitious, so yes! I have a few reading challenges I’m hoping to participate in. I’m going to attempt to use mostly my TBR shelves to fill the prompts, as a way to get through my backlog.
