Can you believe that the end of the year is already upon us? It feels like just yesterday I was celebrating the beginning of Fall. What happened?

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

The Way of Kings. I started (and finished) The Way of Kings Pt. I, but I still have to read the entirety of Part II. I’m really enjoying the world and characters, so I don’t know why I’m being so slow about getting into (and through) this series!
Otherwise I am thankfully doing a decent job of finishing the books I pick up. Fingers crossed it stays that way!
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I’m not sure I would describe any of the remaining books I have as autumnal (maybe I am doing this book tag a little late in the year? I’m not sure). The next few books I hope to read are: The Other Mothers, No One Can Know, and What the River Knows.
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Always! Currently I’m waiting on Ruthless Vows and Destroy the Day (though the latter is a 2024 release). Both are sequels to series that I’ve absolutely loved thus far, so it’s pretty obvious why I’m counting down for them.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

Love, Lucy, Long as the Lemon Trees Grow, and All Boys Aren’t Blue. I have a few reading challenges to complete, and since I’ve been wanting to read these books anyway, I tucked them into different prompts. Reading these will complete three out of the four higest priority prompts for me.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite book of the year?

I’m fully expecting Ruthless Vows to become a favorite, so I guess that wouldn’t count as shocking. Hrm. It’s hard to predict what would surprise me, given that I have my reading planned out for the rest of the year (the books I really need to get through, that is). I have high hopes for A Fragile Enchantment, does that count?
Have you already started making reading plans for 2024?
Yes! Largely my plans revolve around preorders, NetGalley widgets, and reading challenges. Which, okay is a lot, but it could be more specific. I still have some leeway to read what I want, when I want. Especially if I time things right.
My first few books of 2024 will likely be: Mislaid in Parts Half-Known, The Heiress, Only If You’re Lucky, and Once Upon a Time at the End of the World Vol. 2.
