With that in mind, I wanted to take advantage of some of the Halloween-themed book tags out in the wild! This one was created by CatFairy Books (which has since gone offline). I found the saved version of it on Madame Writer’s blog.

What Are Your Favorite Halloween Movies?

Oh! I have lots of favorite Halloween movies. My top picks would be Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and Corpse Bride.

What is Your Favorite Halloween Book?

I’m not sure that I have a favorite Halloween book. I love reading new horror novels around this time of year though, does that count? Hrm. What about a classic, Frankenstein?

What Other Halloween Books Would You Recommend?

Practical Magic. The whole series is one of my favorites. I love how it grows and evolves with each new addition to the series. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a book with a witchy vibe.

Do You Own Any Halloween Sweaters?

Sadly, I don’t think so? I don’t own any ugly Christmas sweaters either, come to think of it. I guess I’ve been a bit cheap in that department. Womp womp.

What Are Some of Your Favorite Halloween Costumes?

Oh! I love costumes that make me laugh. I know they’re corny, but anything that surprises a laugh out of me gets a win in my book. That includes those ridiculous inflatable ones.

What Are You Doing for Halloween This Year?

Honestly, I’m not sure. I would love to! But I’m recovering from covid (boo), so I’m afraid to count on it. We might get together a group of friends to play through The Quarry (a co-op game with a strong storytelling element).

What Is Your Favorite Childhood Halloween Memory?

As stereotypical as it sounds, trick-or-treating! I love making my own costumes and proudly going around the neighborhood (not my neighborhood, mind you, as it consisted of two houses on a main road) and getting free candy. It was so much fun, and some of my best memories.
