Series: The Silver Prison #1
Author: Peter Shokeir
Released: March 31, 2023
Received: NetGalley

Book Summary:
In the future (that may or may not be closer than you’d think), the world has been torn apart by war. During this time, a man is found buried in the dunes of the Sahara. More surprisingly, this person is still very much alive.
Alive, but with a helmet stuck to his head. The good (or bad?) news is that the helmet seems to be indestructible. This, combined with a few other …odd…traits, make Helmet the perfect candidate for involuntary soldier service.
My Review:
I’m always on the hunt for something new and different. As such, I didn’t hesitate to dive into The Silver Prison by Peter Shokeir. It’s one part futuristic fiction and one part superhero story – origin story and all! Okay, my description doesn’t do that combination justice, but you understand what I mean.
The Silver Prison has a lot of promise. It’s fun and exciting and could easily appeal to a broader audience. There were some functional issues with formatting and tone of voice, but that can be overlooked by the right reader, right?
Overall, I’d say if you like experimental writing styles and science fiction with a strong sense of humor, The Silver Prison might be the right read for you.
Highlights:
- Science Fiction Adventure
- First in a Series
Trigger Warnings:
- Buried alive
