My Review:
The Test of the Four is actually the second novel in this series, and I’ll admit that I haven’t had the chance to read the first. However! You know me, I can’t resist a shiny cover and description, so I wanted to give it a try anyway.
I was not disappointed. The Test of the Four provides readers with several intensely written characters, and it wasn’t long before I fell in love with the lot of them. Yes, the world is a bit bleak, but that just adds to the desperation and need for a win, which I cherish.
A.E. Bennett’s writing style lends well to new readers. Details and bits of information were repeated throughout, making it easier to dive into the middle of this series. I always appreciate it when that happens, so thank you!
