3 kitties

I’ll be the first to admit that How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is not a typical read for me. Yet when it popped up as a choice for BOTM, something about it called to me. I think it was a craving for change if I’m being honest. Either way, I knew I was going to give this novel by K.M. Jackson a try.

Bethany Lu Carlisle has been obsessed with Keanu Reeves for about as long as she can remember. So when she learned on the news that Keanu Reeves is getting married in 90 days…she may have lost it a little bit.

In a move of pure desperation, Lu and her best friend hop in the car for a road trip: destination Keanu Reeves. Along the way, Lu will learn so much about herself, including her own hidden feelings. The real question is, will she be marrying Keanu Reeves at the end of the road?

“Why is pain the emotion we so easily make our home? It’s like we sign up for the thirty-year mortgage on pain, but only do short-term leases or annual time-shares on pleasure.”

How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days is very much an adorable romance novel if ever I’ve seen one. Lu has pinned her whole life and passions on an unattainable guy, and I feel like that is something we can all relate to.

However, Lu takes this a step (whole leaps, actually) farther than the average person. That is where the dissonance comes into play. Literally dropping everything to make a desperate play on a person we’ve never met is not something the average person would do.

But hey, who said that Lu was average? She isn’t by any means, and that is totally okay. Overall I’d say that this was a quick and fun read, one that has a predictable but still sweet ending, some laughter, and a lot of chaos along the way.
