Over the years, I’ve seen a game bouncing back and forth between book bloggers and vloggers called On My Shelf. The core concept is pretty simple: number each book on your shelf, and then have fellow readers pick a number at random. You are then to write about that correlating book – you can write about anything related to this book – the story behind it, why you bought it, what you loved about it, etc.
All credit to Iain Broome, who I’m fairly certain is the original creator of this super fun game. Or at least the first one I saw doing this. However, I’m going to modify it slightly in my case. I’m going to use a random number generator as a way of choosing which book to write about.

The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean
This month, we’re taking a closer look at one of my random hardcover shelves. Some shelves I don’t really know what to do with, like these narrower ones that look really nice, but don’t fit a lot of hardcovers neatly. I’ve done the best I can with them, but I still feel like there’s a better way to design them.
Anyway, I’m missing the point. The Book Eaters by Sunyi Dean was a fascinating read, as far as I’m concerned. It felt like a dark love letter to this book lover’s heart, with some playful twists on the concept of devouring a book in a single reading. You can see my review of it HERE.
