Over the years I’ve seen a game bouncing back and forth between book bloggers and vloggers called On My Shelf. The core concept is pretty simple: number each book on your shelf, and then have fellow readers pick a number at random. You are then to write about that correlating book – you can write about anything related to this book – the story behind it, why you bought it, what you loved about it, etc.

All credit to Iain Broome, whom I’m fairly certain is the original creator of this super fun game. Or at least the first one I saw doing this. However, I’m going to modify is slightly in my case. I’m going to use a random number generator as a way of choosing which book to write about.

Bookcase Number: 6 |  Shelf Number: 1 |  Book Number: 20

Winters in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand

Dang it. I hate it when the random number generator outs me, showing off a book I haven’t read on my shelves. I usually try to keep all of my unread books on one shelf (well, shelves), but some of the older BOTM picks have snuck through the cracks. In this case, this one lives on my pretty rainbow BOTM shelf, and I just can’t bring myself to move it.

Since Winters in Paradise was published back in 2018, you can tell that this one has been sitting on my shelf for a bit. Oops. Remind me to add it to my newer TBR stack to get it through the reading process a bit sooner, hopefully.

The cover design for this book is a bit funny to me. The red spine doesn’t match the beachy vibes of the actual cover. Is it just me? Either way, the nice bright red spine works well for the design of my shelf, so I can’t really complain.
