Over the years I’ve seen a game bouncing back and forth between book bloggers and vloggers called On My Shelf. The core concept is pretty simple: number each book on your shelf, and then have fellow readers pick a number at random. You are then to write about that correlating book – you can write about anything related to this book – the story behind it, why you bought it, what you loved about it, etc.

All credit to Iain Broome, whom I’m fairly certain is the original creator of this super fun game. Or at least the first one I saw doing this. However, I’m going to modify is slightly in my case. I’m going to use a random number generator as a way of choosing which book to write about.

Bookcase Number: 1 | Shelf Number: 2 | Book Number: 7

The Star Wars Trilogy

“These are not the droids you’re looking for.”

Ha! I don’t know why I’m surprised by this, but my randomizer pulled from my Star Wars shelf! Yes, I have a whole bookshelf dedicated to Star Wars; don’t judge me. Most of the shelf is taken up by collectibles and nick-knacks, but the bottom two shelves are all books (and I’m going to need more space for them soon, as I couldn’t fit another book if I tried…I know because I have).

This is probably one of my favorite bookshelves, but one I hardly show online. I’m not sure why that is, other than how I feel I should organize it better (it’s a wee bit cluttered…because I’m a hoarder).

I adore Star Wars. The movies, the books, the shows, you name it. I also love the park (Batuu). And I was lucky enough to spend my ten-year anniversary aboard the Halcyon before it closed (I’m writing an article about that now; it will hopefully be out by the time this gets posted).

The specific book highlighted by the number pull is The Star Wars Trilogy. It’s basically the novelized version of the three original movies, so it has a lot of sentimental value (to me and many others, I’m sure).
