Over the years I’ve seen a game bouncing back and forth between book bloggers and vloggers called On My Shelf. The core concept is pretty simple: number each book on your shelf, and then have fellow readers pick a number at random. You are then to write about that correlating book – you can write about anything related to this book – the story behind it, why you bought it, what you loved about it, etc.

All credit to Iain Broome, whom I’m fairly certain is the original creator of this super fun game. Or at least the first one I saw doing this. However, I’m going to modify is slightly in my case. I’m going to use a random number generator as a way of choosing which book to write about.

Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough

“Someone can do a terrible unforgivable thing, and yet you forgive them if you love them. The heart is such a strange thing.”

So, it would figure that my second go at “On My Shelf” would pull one of my TBR books that I’ve randomly tucked away. And here I thought I had done a good job putting all (well, MOST) of my TBR books in one place. Apparently not.

I nabbed Cross Her Heart from BOTM ages ago. I probably don’t even want to look up how long I’ve had it…oh look…it was released in 2018. So that long. Whoops. Since I can’t really talk about how this book made me feel, I will promise to raise its priority on my TBR stack. It has a decent rating on Goodreads (3.69) and still sounds interesting.
