Review: Crown of Shadows by Keri Arthur

Man, I love it when one of my favorite authors starts a new series! Keri Arthur’s latest series, Relic Hunters, kicks off here in Crown of Shadows. If you love pixies, fantasy worlds, intrigue, magical politics, and more than a little bit of danger, then you’re going to love this book. Continue reading

Review: Be the Serpent by Seanan McGuire

I can’t believe it – we’re already at the sixteenth (sixteenth!) novel in the October Daye series. And that’s not even counting all the short stories set in this world (if you haven’t read those, then you’re missing out!). Be the Serpent is the latest installment of this series, and it promises to be yet another groundbreaking novel. As with the last several installments of October Daye, Be the Serpent comes with a new novella – Such Dangerous Seas. Continue reading

Review: The Fae Keeper by H.E. Edgmon

I’m giving The Fae Keeper the key to my heart. It’s already stolen anyway, so why not make things official? But seriously, I adored The Fae Keeper, written by H.E. Edgmon. It’s the second novel in The Witch King series, wrapping up the story to a perfect conclusion. Continue reading

Review: Small Angels by Lauren Owen

Small Angels was one of BOTM’s August choices immediately caught my attention. They haven’t had a ton of horror novels lately, yet this month seemed full of them! You can imagine my delight there. Anyway, Small Angels was one of those options, promising horror, gothic fairytale vibes, and LGBT characters. Yes, please. Continue reading

Yet another read that I am long overdue for! The Iron King is the first novel in Julie Kagawa’s oft talked about Iron Fey series. With a new addition to the series on the way, now seemed like a good time to finally dive on in. Continue reading

Review: Late Eclipses by Seanan McGuire

Late Eclipses is the fourth novel in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. And have I mentioned how sad I am that I’m only really digging into the series now? Oh well, better late than never, right? Continue reading

Review: A Killing Frost by Seanan McGuire

As hard as this may be to believe, we are now fourteen books (and at least twice that many short stories) into the October Daye Series. A Killing Frost is the latest novel in this series by Seanan McGuire, and it is absolutely worth the wait. Continue reading

Review: Night and Silence (October Daye #12) by Seanan McGuire

Night and Silence is the twelveth novel in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire. And our girl is still getting herself into a whole new world of trouble. It’s both impressive and terrifying. But at least it makes for a good story for us all to read. Continue reading

Review: The Brightest Fell (October Daye #11) by Seanan McGuire

The Brightest Fell is the eleventh novel in the October Daye series, and at this point, we’re all amazed that Toby hasn’t found a way to kill herself yet. Not that we’re complaining! It’s just that Toby seems to have a particular talent for getting herself into some of the most intense messes possible. Continue reading
