Yay! It’s more Spider-Man and Deadpool – one of my favorite team-ups out there. They’re arguably the quirkiest out there, and their adventures have steadily been getting more outlandish with time. Spider-Man/Deadpool Vol. 7: My Two Dads is no exception to that rule.

Old Man Deadpool and Old Man Spidey have come back together for an adventure like no other. Mainly, that means that there’s going to be a lot of chaos, and more jokes than ever strewn around between these two.

Oh, did I mention that these two are going to get stuck as father figures in this volume? In case the title didn’t give it away, yeah, that’s about to happen. You can imagine how crazy that plot is going to get, even without any side quests to distract it.

Man, it has been a hot minute since I read any Spider-Man/Deadpool, and I’m happy to be back at it with Spider-Man/Deadpool Vol. 7. I don’t think I realized how much I missed it until now (note to self: go and order volume 8 now, so we can keep this thing rolling).

That being said, I have to admit that things have gotten pretty…convoluted in recent times. There’s a lot going on in this volume, and not all of it is good. Granted, not all of it is bad either. It’s solidly okay. Which is a bit disappointing, considering how much I adore this pairing.

Anyway, moving on. There are two major sides to this volume. The first is the whole ‘Old Man’ gag, which surprisingly hasn’t gotten old. You might think that it would, but nope! It’s still hilarious – though maybe that’s my bias showing. Likewise, there’s the whole plot revolving around Deadpool and Spider-Man having to work together to raise a kid (of sorts). That in itself is pure gold. I just wish that a.) there had been more of it and b.) it has been set up to become something less temporary.

On the bright side, I really enjoyed the artwork in this volume. Scott Hepburn and Matt Horak did a fantastic job working together and just bringing all of these absolutely insane plots and events to life. An impressive feat, to be sure.

This was a fun adventure, even if it wasn’t quite up to the standards normally set. That being said, I’m so happy to be back into reading about this dynamic duo, and legit cannot wait to start reading volume 8.
