I received a copy of Rascal through NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Rascal has to be one of the cutest and most endearing graphic novels I’ve read in quite some time. This is the story of one artist, and their cat…and all of the chaos and love that ensues from that unexpected bond.

Written and illustrated by Jean-Luc Deglin, this is the story of how their life was changed when one fluffy little menace entered their world. This little menace goes by the name Rascal, and boy did they ever earn that name!

The humor in this graphic novel is amazing, and will ring true for any cat own out there. Especially those that have owned a feisty cat full of life and a love for sneak attacks and mayhem. Even if you haven’t been graced by a cat with attitude, this whole book will make you smile and laugh from start to finish.

Deglin’s artwork is charming, especially thanks to the specific subject matter. It’s clear that they adore their cat, as that translates through in each little comic and moment. It’s endearing to read, full of humor and love. And I for one am so glad to have had the opportunity to read it. Thanks for all the smiles.

I’m not a huge fan of cats, but this looks like the kind of quick light read I’ve been in the mood for lately and the cover art is damn cute. 🙂 Great review!
